Welcome to the
102nd annual
Rosebud-Treasure County Fair!
The
Rosebud-Treasure County Fair is in the history
books. The information currently on this site is for
the 2010 fair.
Watch
this space for pictures, and early in 2011 we'll be
updating with information on the 103rd edition of
the fair, coming in July 2011! Find us on Facebook and post your
comments about the fair -- pictures are welcome too.
Start
your fair days early with the annual breakfast,
sponsored by Rosebud County Search & Rescue.
Breakfast is served under the canopy next to the
Exhibition Hall from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM each
day of the fair.
On Thursday, July 22,
plan to be here for
Comedy Night at the Fair, starring
Herb Dixon. Herb is one of the most creative comedians
in the country. He knocked 'em dead in Miles
City last year and has appeared at many fairs around
the region. We're glad to finally be bringing his
hilarious show to our stage. "You won't believe what your
ears will see!" Herb will perform on Thursday, July 22
at 8:00 in the Big Tent, and the best part is the
ticket price: It's free! Bring one and all to
this family-friendly show, but come early ... seats
are likely to go fast.
One of country music's biggest
and most legendary acts,
the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, takes the
grandstand stage
at 8:00 on Friday, July 23. The Dirt Band has a long list of top-40 singles such as
"Make a Little Magic," "Mr. Bojangles" and "Fishin'
in the Dark."
Our
co-headliner this year is Neal McCoy,
country music's Entertainer of the Year award winner
and owner of over a dozen top-40 hits. Neil will
entertain you with songs like "I Swear," "Wink" and
"The Shake." Neal will perform at 8:00 on Saturday,
July 24.
Tickets for the concerts can be purchased online
by clicking the big blue TICKETS button
above; or call the Fair Office at 406-346-2144.
Grandstand
entertainment will topped off with the annual Demolition Derby,
sponsored by the Forsyth American Legion. The Derby
starts at 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon, July 25.
Demolition Derby tickets are
sold at the boxoffice only.
The Mighty Thomas
Carnival makes another return to our midway with
classic and modern rides to keep the kids busy all
weekend, and games galore too. Carnival wristband
pre-sale has ended but you can still buy ride ticket
books at the carnival's ticket booths each day of
the fair.
Plenty of free entertainment awaits you at this year's fair.
Country singer Jason DeShaw, Lou's
Traveling Zoo, Pippi
the Clown and The Magic of Keith Raymond are
all
returning.
New entertainment this year
includes hypnotist Tammy Harris Barton.
Another great new attraction is the NASCAR Racers
and Free Sports Zone, featuring daily
tournaments with various games, including remote
control NASCAR racecars you drive yourself. This
huge new entertainment area promises no-cost fun for
all ages.
There's still more! Make plans to be on the
grounds at 1:00 on Saturday for judging of the "Death By Chocolate" cooking
contest, where fans of great chocolate can vote on their
favorites and then compare results with the expert
judges. Entries will be accepted starting at 10:00 AM.
(Check out the rules by clicking on the delicious
chocolate picture to the left.) You can also
play Lions Club Bingo next to the concession
stand in late afternoons during the fair. (Please
call the office for bingo times.)
For
the politically-minded,
Rep. Denny Rehberg
will be on the grounds hosting a "congressional
listening session" on Sunday, July 25 from 1-2 p.m.
Everyone is invited.
Sunday
morning, Gospel music will ring out in a free
performance courtesy of the Rosebud Creek Revival
band. Relax under the big tent and be inspired.
Show time is 9:30 AM.
We still haven't mentioned the great food at the
4-H concession stand,
along with an array of other food vendors including
Thomas Carnival's Midway Grill, featuring
burgers, fries, corndogs and funnel cakes; the exhibit hall with 4-H and open class entries and
plenty of commercial exhibits; and the 4-H Market
Stock Sale, featuring "Take a Buyer to Dinner"
on Saturday. The Young Men's Club Beer Booth
will be open all four days and the Forsyth FFA will
sponsor a food booth in the front corner of the
Exhibition Hall.
There
are other attractions and events not listed here, so
make plans now to spend a day or two at the
fairgrounds. It all
adds up to one of the best county fairs around,
and it all comes with free gate admission and no
parking fee! We hope to see you this July.
